| Our first New Year's together
|
Aimee, who was a recent Miami transfer, decided to enroll in a study abroad program in Luxembourg for fall semester of 1998. That same time, I was persuaded by fellow Evans Scholar, Jeff Neltner, to enroll in the Luxembourg study abroad program. After arriving in Luxembourg, I noticed that there was this smart (and pretty) girl named Aimee in all of my classes. We became great friends as the semester raged on. After returning to Miami, our friendship never drifted apart. While never being romantically involved, we did always have a "spark" around each other. It was five years later that I finally found the courage, through some convincing of Matt Fiske, of course, to call Aimee and tell her how I felt about the possibility of a relationship. Luckily, for me and my ego, Aimee felt the same. After one or two dates, Aimee and I knew what we had was very special and something that some people may never experience in a lifetime. With all this being said, my proposal to Aimee over Labor Day weekend of 2003 did not come as a suprise to most of our friends and family. We look forward to sharing life's adventures together as a couple.
